The Vespa brand is part of the Italian manufacturing group Piaggio, and produces eight scooter models. The LX 50 and S 50 feature a 49.4cc engine with a thirty-nine mile per hour maximum speed. In the LX 50 model, this engine returns 95 miles per gallon; in the S 50 model, the engine returns eighty-five miles per gallon. The engine is a four stroke, single cylinder configuration that has a maximum torque rating of 3.5Nm at six thousand five hundred revolutions per minute. The LX 150 and S 150 are variants on the two earlier models, with the exception that they have a larger 150cc engine. The S series features the classic looks of the original Vespas dating back to 1946, while the LX series features a comfortable seat and riding position. The GTS series of scooters can be optioned with one of two engine choices: a 248cc or 278cc four stroke single cylinder engine. Both engines feature four valve per cylinder and electronic ignition technology. The GTS is a very smooth ride that is very easy to drive and maneuver. The LXV 150 is outfitted with the aforementioned 150cc four stroke single cylinder engine. The LXV 150 cleverly draws its style from some of the 1960s vintage Vespa scooters. The GTV 250 comes equipped with the same 244cc engine found in the GTS 250; like the LXV 150, this Vespa also takes a few styling cues from earlier Vespas. Chief among those cues is the headlight mounted on the fender, as well as handlebars angled in a position that gives the rider a much greater comfort level.
